Bio:
Watch this Hawaiian ride big waves, and you would swear he has a death wish! Whipping his board under the most critical ledges for last second take-offs, most of which he makes, is a sight to see. His big win at the last event held at “Killers” on the island of Todos Santos is a testament to the skill in which he executes his approach of abandonment.
One would think this much adrenaline would be enough, but for Mark, it’s just one source. Mark is also an avid free diver and has won International spearfishing tournaments. Surely his ability to hold his breath underwater for over four minutes and dive over 100 feet has played a part in his fearless approach to riding big waves, but who knew that he’d use his talents to ride great white sharks, too. Seriously, in a shoot for National Geographic, Mark is shown riding the dorsal of a huge Great White to depths of 60 feet plus.
Mark is always up for a good time, and for him that often occurs when the situation is extra heavy. When it’s time to put your life on the line, Mark is first in line, ready to risk another one of his rapidly diminishing original nine.
